Caregiving can take many forms
A desire to improve the overall care experience for the clients on the Regina General Hospital’s Renal Unit was the driving force behind a nurse and eight of her colleagues setting out to make a difference.
The nurse recognized that for many patients on dialysis, watching TV was their only way to pass their time while receiving treatment and that the TVs were old and in need of updating.
Together with her colleagues, she created a fundraising committee to purchase new TVs. The support was incredible. Donations came in from many sources and by the end of their efforts they raised enough to replace all of the 50 TVs on the unit.
“The possibilities are endless to help others, you just have to try.”
