RQHR Forms New Partnership to Enable More Seniors to Enter Assisted Living
07-Jun-2017
The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region (RQHR) has entered into a partnership with Eden Care Communities and Mutchmor Lodge to improve access to assisted living facilities and enable clients to live more independent lives.
“Given Saskatchewan’s large senior population, as well as the number of younger adults that require 24/7 support, it’s critical that we constantly evaluate
how we provide better access to care while anticipating the future needs of our system,” said Gretta Lynn Ell, Executive Director of Continuing Care,
Programming and Utilization. “Assisted living is a safe, appropriate environment that can enable many clients to maintain their independence while
receiving the supports they need.”
"Our Memory Lane Supported-Independent Living Program offers flexible, convenient and innovative support and assistance in a home environment to individuals, enabling them to live as autonomously as possible, an integral part of creating a life worth living,” said Alan Stephen, CEO Eden Care Communities.
“This move is really about enabling clients to receive the right care, at the right time, in the right environment,” Ell said. “We will work closely with clients, their families, and the assisted living facilities to ensure that the transition to these facilities is as smooth and supportive as possible.”
