Regina Pioneer Village
Regina Pioneer Village (RPV) is the largest seniors’ complex in the province providing both long term care and seniorshousing. The facility has 390 long term care residents and housing is provided for another 176 independent senior tenants. RPV has over 600 full-time, part-time and casual staff.
The special care home was built in two phases – the first in 1967 and the second in 1972. When originally constructed there were 512 residents living in the special care home. Over the years the number has been reduced to 390 to provide more activity, lounge and dining space, single and double rooms.
The long term care home provides nursing, personal care and support services to residents of the home, including nutrition and food services, dietician consultation, housekeeping and personal laundry service, an in-house pharmacy, occupational and physiotherapy services, contracted optometry, dental therapy and specialized foot care services, social workers, facility chaplain, onsite chapel and a hair salon.
Housing tenants have access to the services of the Housing manager, 24 hour emergency response alarm system, maintenance services, access to recreational programming, subsidized evening meal service, biweekly wellness clinics and weekly transportation to a local supermarket. Housing application forms are available at RPV or can be mailed or faxed to interested parties on request.
Recreational and social meeting rooms are available for special events.
