Neonatal Transport Team

The Neonatal Transport Team for the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region is made up of Registered Nurses from the Neonatal Unit, Respiratory Therapists and EMT’s and/ or Paramedics. The service is available 24 hours a day and uses a dedicated ambulance for transport as well as a transport isolette. The ambulance is specifically equipped to hold the isolette, a ventilator, oxygen tanks and medical air tanks.

The Transport Team serves all of Southern Saskatchewan. Working with the hospital staff in other districts, the Neonatal Transport Team can assess a newborn, stabilize him/her and transport him/her to the Neonatal Unit at the Regina General Hospital. The Team has been operating since the late 1970’s.
