Physician Payment Funding Gap

The organization's financial performance over the past year was a real challenge. Many managers worked really hard to achieve the results that realized a $3 million deficit.

What was hidden beneath that deficit was a deficit in physician payments of approximately $11.2M.  The deficits include payments for leadership roles and payments for clinical services.  Payments for leadership and dyad roles around to $3.2M and the balance of approximately $8M relates to payments for clinical services.

The Region is stepping up its plans to remedy the gap and will use a number of strategies to do so.  They include reviewing compensation amounts, reviewing the clinical services provided and seeking remedy to the funding situations for each.

I will provide quarterly reports on progress.
