New Sports Medicine Practice – Dr. Danielle Frost


Dr. Danielle R. Frost started as a faculty physician at the Family Medicine Unit at Regina Centre Crossing on Aug. 8. She is a family physician with special competence in sports medicine.

Dr. Frost is currently accepting sports and musculoskeletal (MSK) referrals at the Family Medicine Unit along with Drs. Heroux and Nicholls.

She has attended both the University of Regina (BSc Hon) and the University of Saskatchewan (MD, MEd). She completed her family medicine residency training in Regina through the University of Saskatchewan (CCFP). She then completed an extra skills year in sports medicine also through the U of S (SEM). She completed her Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine (Dip. Sport Med) through the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine (CASEM).

Her sports medicine experience also includes being a team physician for the Regina Pats, University of Regina Cougars Men’s Hockey, U of R Rams, Regina Riot, and Notre Dame High School.

Patients seen in MSK clinic will be provided detailed consultations with treatment recommendations, including bracing prescriptions and injections as indicated. Referral for imaging or further consultations with other practitioners will also be arranged as indicated. These MSK clinics also benefit resident physicians who are training to become family physicians by exposing them to sports medicine and musculoskeletal problems. Referrals from physicians as well as allied health professionals (including physiotherapists and nurses) are accepted and can be faxed to (306) 766-0471.
