New Specialist – Physiatrist, Dr. Amanda Kleisinger


Dr. Amanda Kleisinger started working as a Physiatrist in the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in August 2017. She is a graduate of the Saskatchewan residency program. She joins Drs. M. Fink, W. Chrusch, S. Wunder, J. Kraushaar, and C. Vayalumkal at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre (WRC) in Regina, SK.

Dr. Kleisinger attended the University of Regina and achieved a Bachelor’s of Kinesiology and Health Studies undergraduate degree (BKin), follow by medical school at the University of Saskatchewan (MD). She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, and received the CSCN designation to perform EMG. Dr. Kleisinger has a special interest in Dance and Performance medicine.

Along with her Physiatry colleagues Dr. Kleisinger is accepting referrals from family medicine physicians, specialty physicians, nurse practitioners, and chiropractors. Consultations are pooled amongst physiatrists and prioritized based on need and date of referral. Please indicate if you are specifically requesting Dr. Kleisinger. Physiatrists provide detailed history and examination, investigation, treatment recommendations, and follow up as necessary. WRC is a teaching centre for undergraduate medical students and post-graduate medical residents.

Patients can be referred to the adult outpatient clinic for nerve conduction studies (NCS) and electromyography (EMG), musculoskeletal assessment, consideration for ultrasound guided soft tissue and joint injections, general neurorehabilitation, bracing, and amputee medicine.
