Influenza Campaign Kicks Off

Dear Practitioner:

The 2016/2017Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region’s Annual Employee Influenza Campaign will soon be underway. In 2015, 12,200 people were hospitalized in Canada due to influenza with 3500 deaths. In 2015, approximately 100 people in the RQHR were hospitalized due to influenza with 28 deaths. Those of us working in health care have a special responsibility to protect the patients and residents of the RQHR by making sure we are immunized against influenza.

Influenza vaccinations will be available for all RQHR health care workers, including contract physicians, beginning Monday, October 31, 2016.The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region’s (RQHR’s) Annual Roving Cart influenza Blitz runs Monday, October 31 to Thursday, November 10, 2016. Influenza vaccinations will also be available in Employee Health Offices during and after the Influenza Blitz – during regular office hours Monday to Friday from 8:00 – 3:45 p.m.

I encourage you and your colleagues to get an influenza vaccine this November.

It is our responsibility and our highest priority to keep our patients, residents, clients, co-workers and families safe. Thank you for creating a safe work environment in our Region.
