Hospitals of Regina Foundation has raised $150 million and has big plans to change more lives

30-Nov-2015

The Hospitals of Regina Foundation (HRF) has a new president and CEO, and a new vision. Dino Sophocleous, who joined HRF in July 2015, says in partnership with the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region (RQHR), they plan to build on their donor loyalty and leverage the cause so that everyone feels it is critical to support our hospitals.

“The Hospitals of Regina Foundation has formed a solid reputation over the years, and has sustained an impressive level of respect from the greater community it serves,” states the new CEO. He describes the Foundation as long been linked with purchasing medical equipment for Regina’s three hospitals. While this is true, the organization supports a broader vision of providing “the best health care possible” across a multitude of health care areas.

“Physicians and nurses are at the heart of all these services and critical to the delivery of health care in our community,” says Sophocleous. “They have seen amazing stories of inspiration and hope.” He explains HRF wants people to hear these stories and to think of the Foundation’s cause in terms of saving lives. “I've met many caring doctors and look forward to meeting and working with more. Collectively we can make a greater difference".

“It is not just about the machine or equipment, these are a means to an end,” he states. “At any given time, a patient is receiving care across many disciplines within Regina’s three hospitals. They provide excellent health care and we want people in our community to know that this cannot be done without their support.”

Over the next year, Sophocleous says they plan to create broader awareness for the RQHR priorities and HRF’s support through a new marketing campaign. The Foundation will work to engage more donors to share and invest in its vision of health care excellence. “Through our messaging, our community will know that by supporting our hospitals through the Foundation, individuals, their families, their friends and neighbours will have access to the best care possible – today and in the future.”
