Do You Have a Research or Quality Improvement Project Requiring Health Data?

13-Dec-2017

In an ongoing effort to support the clinical research and quality improvement projects taking place within Regina, a special advisory group known as the Data Access Tactical Team (DATT) has been established.

The purpose of the DATT is to provide a forum for physicians, staff, QI consultants, and/or researchers tasked with operationalizing a particular project to receive explicit feedback on their project with regards to:

  1. Does the data you need exist?
  2. If so, who has it and in what format can you get it?
  3. How easy/hard will it be to get the data?
  4. Is the data requested the “best” measure we have for the metric you are reporting on?
  5. Timeline – how long will it take to retrieve the data based upon current commitments?

The DATT is comprised of local data experts from Research, I.T., Pharmacy, Lab, Diagnostic Imaging, Primary Health Care, Long Term Care, e-Health, HIMS, and Patient/Access and Flow. The Privacy Officer is also a member of the team to provide advance notice of any potential concerns with respect to patient privacy.

The DATT meets bi-weekly at the RGH (9:00 – 10:30 am). Upcoming dates include the following: Wed Dec 13, Jan 10 and Jan 24.

Please complete the request form below if you would like to meet with the DATT.   You are a welcome to meet with the team even if you are still in the very early stages of your project and don’t yet have well-articulated objectives for your project.

In general, requests to meet with the DATT must be received no later than two days prior to their meeting. The deadline for requests for the Dec 13 meeting is Monday December 11 by 10:00 am.  Once your request is received, you will be provided a time to meet face-to-face with the team.

The Request for a Data Access Consultation form is available at: Request For Consultation Regarding Data Access.
