Clinical Quality Plan

25-May-2017

A new clinical quality plan is in development. The construct takes eight drivers of quality and develops customized report cards for practitioners, the sections in which they operate, and the programs in which their sections participate.

It is a mammoth task, requiring the generation of performance related data from many sources and aggregating them in a consistent and reliable format so that benchmarking between members and between programs can take place.

The Trauma and Critical Care programs, along with the Sections of Orthopedics, General Surgery, Cardiology, Nephrology and Critical Care will be the first to progress with additional programs and sections being added regularly until all practitioners have a report for quality available to them.

Regular updates will be provided quarterly.  It is important to note that the following projects will be incorporated:  Appropriateness, Choosing Wisely, Antimicrobial Stewardship, and Transfusion Safety.  The new structure to support this activity will be presented shortly to the Senior Leadership Team.
