ACU Implementation on 3D

Funding has been received and detailed planning is underway for the implementation of the ACU model on 3D at the Pasqua. The services currently provided there include General Internal Medicine (GIM) with some sub-speciality medicine and family medicine.

Dr. David McCutcheon is inviting those members of the Department of Family Medicine who wish to continue to admit patients solely to the Pasqua Hospital to a meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18th, meeting room 4 & 5, to discuss options.

Experience with the implementation of the pilot on 4A has shown that the ACU model needs to be fully implemented across an entire unit. The options for consideration include an all GIM model of care with two (2) GIM physicians and a Family Medicine/GIM combination with a Regina Association of Hospital Doctors’ (RAHD) like group providing care for eight to 10 patients.

The meeting on Monday evening at the Pasqua at 7:00 p.m. will garner the opinion of those family physicians who currently admit to the Pasqua.

Should members be unable to attend their opinions will also be sought via email.
