Client/Patient Information: Visitor Services
Smoking policy
The Region's acute care hospitals are No Smoking Facilities in accordance with the Province of Saskatchewan's non-smoking law.
Preferred Accommodation
Depending upon availability patients may request private or semi-private accommodation (Preferred Accommodation). A major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) must be provided when requesting preferred accommodation. There is no guarantee that you will be placed in a private or semi-private room but you will only be charged if you receive the preferred accommodation. If you have additional health insurance a portion of the charge may be covered.
Spiritual Care
Spiritual Care Hospital Chaplains and Church Volunteers visit patients on a regular basis. If you wish to be visited,
please state this on your admission. If you wish to have a visit from your own Pastor/Priest, please inform them of the
date of your admission.
How Can SWADD Help You
If you have questions during your hospital stay about how you will manage when you get home, please ask a nurse to
help you contact a SWADD Discharge Planner.
Visiting hours
Patients need rest. No more than two visitors per patient at one time is advised. Ask your family and friends to come in
turns and keep visits short.
Usual hospital visiting hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Some units may have different visiting hours. To inquire, call
the switchboard of the facility, or ask the nursing staff on the unit.
Out of town visitors needing accommodation can book space at the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region Hostel.
