Emergency Medical Services: First Responder Teams

First responder teams provide essential service to their communities. They are highly trained and carry medical equipment. They volunteer their time, day and night, to respond to medical and trauma emergencies. These dedicated volunteers provide basic life support until an ambulance arrives.

There are First Responder Teams in the following Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region communities.

• Abernethy
• Balgonie
  
  The Balgonie First Responders are organized through the Balgonie Fire department, and have a specially equipped bus and AED (Automated External Defibrillator). The First Responders cover the town of Balgonie, the surrounding area and a section of highway #1.
  
  
• Bethune
  
  The Bethune First Responders cover the town of Bethune and surrounding area, North Grove, Disley and a section of highway #11.
  
  
• Broadview

• Earl Grey
  
  The Earl GreyFirst Responders cover Earl Grey and the surrounding area.
  
  
• Edenwold
• Grand Coulee
  
  The Grand Coulee First Responders are organized through the local fire department and cover an area that includes Grand Coulee, Condie, a section of highway #1 and an area south of highway #1.
  
  
• Holdfast
  
  The Holdfast First Responders cover Holdfast and the surrounding area, Dilke, Penzance and a section of highway #11.
  
  
• Kelliher
• Lemburg
• Lumsden
  
  The Lumsden First Responders have an AED. They cover an area including Lumsden, Craven, Dilke and a section of highway #11.
  
  
• Mclean
• Montmartre
• Silton (North Shore)
  
  The North Shore First Responders provide coverage for Silton, Saskatchewan Beach and Kannata Valley. The population increases in the summer due to the beaches. This team is equipped with an AED.
  
  
• Odessa
  
  The Odessa First Responders cover the town of Odessa and the surrounding area, including a section of highway #11.
  
  
• Pense
  
  The Pense First Responders cover Pense and surrounding area, as well as a section of highway #1. They have an AED.
  
  
• Piapot
  
  The Piapot First Responders serve Piapot and the surrounding area.
  
  
• Pilot Butte
  
  The Pilot Butte First Responders are coordinated through the Pilot Butte Fire department. They and provide coverage for Pilot Butte, the surrounding area and sections of highways #1 and #46.

• Regina Beach (South Shore)
  
  The South Shore First Responders provide coverage for Regina Beach, Buena Vista, Lumsden Beach, and Kinookima. They are equipped with an AED.
  
  
• Sedley
  
  The Sedley First Responders have provide coverage for the town of Sedley and immediate surrounding area, Lajord, Francis and a section of highway #33.
  
  
• Southey
  
  The Southey First Responders have provide coverage for the town of Southey and surrounding area, Markinch, Serath and sections of highways #6 and #22.
  
  
• Vibank
  
  The Vibank First Responders provide coverage for the town of Vibank, the immediate surrounding area, Davin and the Lajord Hutterite Colony. They are equipped with an AED.
  
  
• Wapella

  The White City First Responders provide coverage for the town of White City, the immediate surrounding area, Dreghorn, Jameson, Kathrinthal Colony and a section of highway #1.
