Population and Public Health Services Travel Health Centre provides health services to assist travellers to stay healthy while travelling internationally. Services include information about health risks and immunization, if needed. There is a fee for this service.

Services Provided

  • Assessment of travel health needs based on: travel destination, length of stay, accommodations, activities, present health status, etc.
  • Counselling and administration of routine, required, and recommended immunizations. We have available a wide variety of vaccines and are a Health Canada certified Yellow Fever Vaccination clinic.
  • Assessment of risk for malaria and altitude illness, and prescription of recommended medications.
  • Printed travel reports that are country specific.
  • Information and counselling by face to face discussions and printed materials on general travel related issues, such as food and water precautions, insect precautions, traveller’s diarrhea, and specific health concerns while travelling such as pregnancy, diabetes and heart disease.
  • Access to travel advisories for ongoing worldwide health concerns.
  • Information about, and access to travel health products for purchase such as bed netting and water purification systems

Services are provided by Public Health Nurses qualified in Travel Health Medicine under the direction of a Public Health Physician.

Appointments at the Travel Health Centre

The Travel Health Centre is open Monday 12:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. and Tuesday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to noon and 12:45 to 4:45 p.m.

Clients are seen by appointment only. Advice on immunization recommendations will not be provided over the telephone. Allow 1-1 ½ hours for your first appointment.

It is recommended that you contact the clinic at least 6-8 weeks prior to your departure date.

You should bring the following information to your appointment:
  • Your travel itinerary
  • Any previous immunization record(s)
  • A list of medications you are currently taking
  • Your Saskatchewan Health Card

Fee for services at the Travel Health Centre

The cost of travel health services is not covered by Saskatchewan Health. You will be required to pay a service fee, as well as a cost for each vaccine you choose.

Payment can be made by cash, cheque, MasterCard, Visa or debit card.
