Population and Public Health Services: School Health Program

Population and Public Health Services provide health services in schools in the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region. Professional staff from Public Health work with school staff and promote school based, health promotion activities which encourage students to adopt a healthy lifestyle and take responsibility for their own health.

Individual student counselling is available by referral from teachers, students and parents.

Specific services that may be offered in the school are:
  • immunizations
  • hearing screening by referral
  • dental health information
  • nutrition information
  • information on specific health issues
  • health promotion strategies
