Health Promotion: Active Living

Regular physical activity is one of the best things you can do for your body. Thirty minutes of moderate intensity physical activity on most days of the week will improve your health and fitness. It will enhance balance and posture, boost your self-esteem, give you a healthy tool to manage your weight, strengthen muscles and bones, give you more energy, help to reduce stress and contribute to continued independent living in later life.

On the flip side, choosing an inactive lifestyle contributes to premature death, heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure, adult-onset diabetes, osteoporosis, stroke, depression and colon cancer. Make the healthy choice! Be physically active.
