Long Term Care Services: Quick Response Unit The Quick Response Unit is an alternative to emergency room care for individuals, ages 65 years and older, experiencing non-emergency changes in their health or social situation. In these circumstances, emergency room staff work with SWADD to identify immediate short term care options and to provide comprehensive assessment services. Individuals are admitted to the Quick Response Unit with a scheduled date for returning to the community. On average, the maximum length of stay is seven days. While in care, the individuals receive:
