Diabetes Services: Eye Screening Clinics

People with diabetes are at risk for diabetic retinopathy, a condition in which the retina becomes damaged due to changes to the blood vessels behind the eye. Screening for diabetic retinopathy is being made more widely available due to the combined effort of the RQHR Eye Centre, Medical Media and the Regional Diabetes Initiative.

• have been diagnosed with diabetes and
• have not seen an optometrist or ophthalmologist within the past two years.
