Diabetes Services "Diabetes is a chronic condition that stems from the body's inability to sufficiently produce and/or properly use insulin which the body needs to use sugar as an energy source" (Public Health Agency of Canada, 2011). MEDEC (The Metabolic and Diabetes Education Centre) (Regina) - Provides diabetes education, care and support to adults, youth and children with pre-diabetes, diabetes or gestational diabetes (GDM). What is Diabetes? - Provides general information about diabetes and how it is treated. Diabetes Prevention - Discusses the risks, screening and prevention of type 2 diabetes. Diabetes - Special FocusDiabetes Prevention Activities in the RQHR - Identifies RQHR's prevention-focused diabetes programs. The RQHR Regional Diabetes Initiative - Plans, delivers and evaluates diabetes management and prevention. Diabetes in First Nations and Métis People - Provides an overview of the current situation and services available to First Nations and Métis people with diabetes. Diabetes in Children - Describes the current situation and services available to children with diabetes. Chronic Disease Management Collaborative (HQC) - Seeks to improve the care and health of those living with coronary artery disease and diabetes and improve access to physician practices. |
