Podiatry Services Update
09-May-2017
The RQHR advises that publicly funded podiatry services will no longer be provided by health regions. In the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region (RQHR), this change is effective immediately. As a result, we are no longer booking podiatry appointments.
If clients require podiatry services please discuss treatment options with their doctor/primary health care provider or contact one of the private podiatrists
listed at: www.scop.ca/SCOP-licensed-podiatrists or search by “Podiatrist” in the telephone directory.
Individuals will be responsible for paying for services provided by a private podiatry clinic. Some private health insurance plans cover podiatry services,
so clients may wish to consult with their individual health plan provider for details on coverage for these services.
Podiatry services will continue to be a benefit for individuals with coverage under Supplementary Health and children with Family Health Benefits. If the
individual is covered by these plans and requires more information on moving services to private podiatrists, contact Supplementary Health Benefits
at 1-800-266-0695.
Note: The RQHR Foot Health Clinic will continue to operate and see their active patients. The booking process will remain unchanged.
