Finding Your Way
Pioneer Village is the largest special care home in Saskatchewan with 390 beds and 143 senior's low income/subsidized housing apartments. The special care home provides comprehensive personal and nursing long term care services to adults requiring 24-hour support. In addition to general long term care services, we provide a wide variety of specialized programming, including dementia care, adult day support, respite care, acquired brain injury care, chronic mental health and behavioral support programs, and specialized level II care for adults at risk in the community. We continue to work on the development and expansion of programs for supporting clients with chronic mental health needs, as this is a priority need in the Health Region.
The seniors' apartment complexes are located adjacent to the special care home and have access to recreational programming, lifeline emergency support and subsidized evening meal service daily. There are a variety of accommodation options available, including bachelor, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units.
Pioneer Village is proud to partner with the McNabb Community Association who provide space for recreational, sport and leisure programming that brings our residents together with the our local community. The Pioneer Village Hall is host to the majority of the community programs.
Pioneer Village was originally formed in 1955 with the development of seniors' low income cottages and over the 44 years, the organization has expanded to serve the long term care and housing needs of over 550 people each day. Pioneer Village amalgamated with the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region on June 30, 2009 and is part of the Restorative and Continuing Care Portfolio.
