LTC Programs offered at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre Extended Care/Veterans Program

The Extended Care/Veterans Program, located at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, provides specialized supportive and long term care services to 259 residents on seven units. Veterans' Affairs Canada funds 54 of these specialized beds. Access to these beds is determined by Veterans Affairs.

The Extended Care Program at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre is designed to meet the needs of individuals, 18 years of age and older, who have clinically complex care needs and require interventions. Some examples of the specialized care offered include ventilated care and deep suctioning.

Individuals cannot select a long term care bed in Wascana Rehabilitation Centre as a preference. Services provided at this site are designed to meet the needs of clients with the most complex care needs.

Resident fees for long term care (permanent placement) are established by Saskatchewan Health and based on income.

For information regarding fees associated with the Veterans Program at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, please contact Veterans Affairs Canada.
