Improvement Report Out 92 and 93

A Rapid Process Improvement Workshop (RPIW) is focused on a particular process in which the people who do the work are empowered to eliminate waste and reduce the burden of work.

RPIW 92
Service Line: Quality and Transformation
From the time that a Learning Physician writes a prescription to the the RQHR Pharmacy recognized the most responsible physician for the prescription.

RPIW 93
Service Line: Clinical Support Services
From the time that a specimen arrives in the Regina General Hospital Lab to the time the specimen is available for testing.

At the conclusion of an improvement event, participating teams gather to explain the problem they aimed to solve and the solutions applied to those involved in the process. The public and media are welcome to attend. Media are asked to call Communications prior to their arrival at 306-766-5365.

What is an RPIW?
A Rapid Process Improvement Workshop (RPIW) is focused on a particular process in which the people who do the work are empowered to eliminate waste and reduce the burden of work. RPIW teams are comprised of senior leaders, staff members and patient advisors, and are supported by Kaizen specialists.

Teams prepare for nine weeks before the RPIW and audit the results 30, 60, 90 and 180 days following the event to ensure the new procedures have been sustained. RPIWs support the health region's priority areas for improvement.
