Thrill of the chill

On Thursday, Aug. 10, patients on the Pediatrics Unit (4F) and the Adolescent Unit (4B) at Regina General Hospital were treated to free Dairy Queen Blizzards, compliments of local DQ owner Jim Braun in recognition of DQ Blizzard Treat Day.

On right, patients Reyce Ball (left, in wheelchair) and Noah Ali (right, seated) are among those who gathered in 4F’s playroom with Regina Rams’ Ryan Schienbein (left, standing) and Noah Picton (centre, standing) and DQ franchise co-owners Donarae Picton (right, standing) and Donna Anaka (crouching) to celebrate the day. Proceeds from all Blizzards purchased throughout the province went to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.  4F and 4B staff took part in the fun, purchasing Blizzards in support of the event.

DQ franchise owners Donarae Picton and Donna Anaka added to the party atmosphere by bringing balloons and coupons for free Blizzards. They were accompanied by Regina Rams players Noah Picton and Ryan Schienbein who visited with children and families and signed footballs.
