The Trauma Program is committed to improving the trauma care process from time of the incident through discharge, by getting the right care to the right patient at the right time.

Trauma Program

The Trauma Program consists of a Medical Director, Program Manager, Data Analyst, Trauma Team Leads (TTL) and the Trauma Burn Unit (TBU) on 6A at the Regina General Hospital. The team will provide high quality clinical care to our trauma patinets. In addition, quality improvement and assurance programs, robust data for the trauma registry and implementastion of coordinated care plans across urban and rural sites, as Regina General Hospital serves as the designated trauma center for Southern Saskatchewan.

The Trauma Program looks at all aspects of the trauma care process by coordinating with various prehospital care providers like STARS and Rural/Urban EMS. Surgeon TTL's will collaborate with our Emergency Department's physicians and staff to assess, resuscitate and admit trauma patients based upon Advance Trauma Life Support principles and clinical practice guidelines developed by the Trauma Committee. The Trauma Team will help provide timely, safe care to our trauma patients, with the intent of increasing patient flow and disposition and to partner with our rural communities in the dispensation of trauma services.
