During the fall of 2015, at a Strategic Planning Session, the RQRHA decided to develop a new structure in order to more efficiently focus on important issues. Sub-committees were developed within the Board to support regular Authority function through the delegation of tasks that focus on specific goals related to health care system performance. The four committees are:

Quality and Safety

The Quality and Safety (Q&S) Committee recommends policy and provides advice to the RQRHA on matters related to quality and safety. The Committee evaluates, examines and assures itself and the RQRHA that the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region (RQHR) is compliant with provincial policy and leads practice in matters related to quality and safety. Dimensions of quality include accessibility, equity, client-centred care, efficiency, effectiveness, safety and competency. The Q&S Committee evaluates strategic issues and advises the RQRHA on matters related to the RQRHA's strategic priority of Client Experience which is to always provide our clients with the best possible health care experience and the provincial strategic priority ofBetter Care in partnership with patients and families, to improve each individual’s experience, achieve timely access and continuously improve healthcare safety.

Audit, Finance and Risk

The Audit, Finance and Risk Committee recommends policy, provides advice to, and acts on behalf of the RQRHA. The Committee evaluates strategic issues related to the RQRHA’s strategic priority ofHealthy Business to manage our shared health care resources in an accountable and transparent manner that ensures the future provision of appropriate services and the provincial strategic priority ofBetter Value to achieve best value for money, improve transparency and accountability, and strategically invest in facilities, equipment and information infrastructure.

Human Resources

The Human Resources (HR) Committee recommends policy and provides advice to the RQRHA on matters related to RQHR employees. The HR Committee evaluates, examines and assures itself and the RQRHA that the RQHR is compliant with provincial policy and leading practice in matters related to its employees. The HR Committee evaluates strategic issues and advises the RQRHA on matters related to:

  • the RQRHA's strategic priority to provide A Healthy Workplace which is a workplace where individuals work together respectfully, and take pride in contributing to the positive client experience and achieving the organization’s goals.
  • the provincial strategic priority (Better Teams) to build safe, supportive and quality workplaces that support patient-and family centered care and collaborative practices, and develop a highly skilled, professional and diverse workforce that has a sufficient number and mix of service providers.

Policy and Governance

The Policy & Governance (P&G) Committee recommends policy and provides advice to the RQRHA on matters related to governance and the policy framework. The P&G Committee evaluates, examines and assures itself and the RQRHA that the RQHR is compliant with provincial policy and leading practice in matters related to governance and policy.
